Guide to the History Section

1910 to Today traces the development of the 2nd Odiham Town Group from the formation of a Troop of Boys Scouts in the autumn of 1910 to the present group that caters for boys and girls aged 6 to 16.

The Camps pages is just what it says. If you have any memories, especially photographs, we would be only too pleased to include them on the website.

On the Activities pages we want to create a record of the wide range of activities that Scouts have been involved in. In recent times this has included caving, climbing, sailing and pioneering to name just a few activities. But we know that in the distant past there was a band, hand bell ringing and some excellent concerts. If you have any information, can we please have it.

We hope to build up a record of all leaders who have played a part in making the Group what it is today.

The Roll of Honour commemorates those who died on active service with the Armed Forces. If we have missed anyone out, we are sorry. Please let us know so we can correct the omission.

In 1979 Keith Brailey, an Odiham Cub, was awarded the Cornwell Badge. The citation reads "In recognition of his high standard of character and devotion to duty under great suffering". His story is told here through the original newspaper reports and photographs

Scout Awards lists awards made to leaders in recognition of their service to Scouting
